1. What happened last year? (Record, key themes through the year etc.)

Oh my. The Eagles started 10-1, and then had one of the biggest falls from grace in modern sports history. Disharmony between head coach Sirianni and QB Jalen hurts, coupled with incredibly poor game management from both coordinators and a huge drop off in production, led to the Eagles crumbling to lose 6 of their last 7 games.

2. What was the best game / moment of 2023 for your team?

The Eagles beating Dallas at home on the 5th of November was a special because we brought 25 UK fans over for the Eagles Trip of a lifetime, which was rounded off with a great win at home against our rivals. However, nothing will top beating the Chiefs in the Superbowl rematch the week after. Performances like this makes you wonder how they fell from grace so rapidly. IF the Eagles are off to stuttering start to the year then Sirianni’s seat will start to get a little hot with the talent they have and the senior coordinators in the building.

3. What changes have been made in the offseason? (Coaching/roster changes etc.)

Wholesale Changes. New Defensive Coordinator in Vic Fangio and new Offensive Coordinator in Kellen Moore mean the Eagles mean business. The defensive backfield has been completely reshaped with 1st round CB Quinyon Mitchell and 2nd round DB Cooper DeJean as well as free agency pick-ups Isaiah Rodgers and Safety CJ Gardner Johnson. Oh, and the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley to round out the best offensive weapon unit in the NFL. Hurts, Barkley, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert were potent even before they picked up Jahan Dotson at WR3. One of the biggest questions will be how the Offensive and Defensive line perform. The lost of Kelce and Fletcher Cox to retirement are huge holes to fill. And with premier pass rusher Hassan Reddick (Still annoyed I bought his jersey last November!) off to the jets, the Eagles will be replying heavily on steps ups from Carter, Davis and Nolan Smith – while hoping their punt on Bryce Huff pays off big time.

4. What is your prediction for your team in 2024? (Record/playoff exit – and any notes on players/games etc.)

The Eagles will bounce back in style after a poor post Superbowl year, last year. Experienced coordinators, a newly shaped defence, and with one of the best offensive weapon groups in the league will see the Eagles win 13 games and lose 4. Jalen Hurts had a sensational camp and looks back to his best following a slight regression last year. The Eagles are going to the NFC championship game as a minimum… but can they take home the Lombardi trophy. The offence is powerful, but the defence will be one of the key reasons the Eagles maintain a deep run, with the Eagles leading the league in turnover football.

5. Who should we look out for this year? (Player / situation)

Keep an eye on TE Dallas Goedert. Injuries have plagued his career, and when healthy he is a top 5 TE in the league. Kellen Moore loves to get TEs involved in the game and this could be his best season yet, even with the high powered weapons he has to compete with for touches. On defence, CJGJ is back in Kelly green, look out for his ball hawk skills and tough game attitude, and keep an eye on Jalx Hunt, the 3rd round pickup could quickly find himself in the rotation with Graham ageing.

6. If someone was completely new to NFL, how would you convince them to be a fan of your team?

Nobody likes us and we don’t care. The Philly fan base is special, it’s passionate, it takes no prisoners. If you’re looking to support a team that the rest of the NFL has a soft spot for – it isn’t this team. The blue-collar city bleeds green, and if you don’t try hard, we’ll run you out of town. Wear your heart on your sleeve, fight for the right to be loved and you will be a hero in this city. Often written off by national media, proud to be underdogs. Calling all UK football fans who can resonate with this.
