As the dust settles on the NFL combine, teams around the league are busy setting up their pre-draft top-30 visits.

What is a Top-30 Visit?

Each team in the league is allowed to bring in up to 30 draft prospects to their respective facilities to evaluate what doesn’t show up on tape or stats; Attitude, IQ, personality and medical examinations.

Why is this important?

Nick Sirianni has always preached a certain culture during his tenure as Eagles Head Coach and these player interviews are vital to maintain locker room harmony and assess team-fit in addition to their abilities on the field. Nick has always tried to draft competitors – the guys who will fight for every 50/50 ball, every inch on the line of scrimmage and every free-throw in the novacare complex.

Recently history tells us that the Eagles treat these visits with high importance in their draft process, selecting 4 prospects who visited the team facility in 2023 from their 7 overall selections; Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo and Tyler Steen.

Who is visiting in 2024?

Let’s get down to it shall we? There is a bit of a mixed bag so far; from a few top-50 prospects to some day 2/3 gems the Eagles are trying to uncover. One theme is immediately apparent … that’s a lot of OLine. This shouldn’t really be a surprise to anyone who knows how the Eagles operate and that is; the horses up front. Replenishing the line is shaping up to be top priority heading into the draft after losing a number of pieces this off-season with future HOF Center Jason Kelce’s retirement as well as depth pieces Jack Driscoll and Sua Opeta taking deals in Miami and Tampa respectively.

Christian Mahogany – G – Boston College

6’3 314lbs

I mean…he’s already an Eagle! The Boston College Eagles deployed Christian on both sides of Center through his college career. Starting out at left guard in 2020 as a redshirt freshman, he then transitioned to the right guard spot his sophomore year earning a 2nd team all-ACC honours, allowing 7 total pressures through the season (1 sack, 2 QBHs and 4 hurries) from 706 total snaps at RG becoming one of the best pass protection guards in the ACC. In 2022, Christian suffered an ACL knee injury playing basketball and did not compete that year for the Eagles, however bounced back in 2023 for his senior season as a team captain allowing 0 sacks, 0 QBHs and 7 hurries over 862 snaps at right guard earning first-team All-ACC honours in the process.

Cooper Beebe – G – Kansas State

6’3 322lbs

In 51 career games, Cooper started out at RT for the Wildcats in 2020 before moving to the left side of the line where he really came into his own. In his junior and senior seasons at Left Guard Cooper was named the ‘Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year’ in two consecutive years, joining esteemed NFL calibre players Creed Humprey and Orlando Brown as the very few players to do so. PFF credits Cooper with an overall pass blocking grade of 90.4 over the course of 2023 allowing a total of 9 pressures (2 sacks and 7 hurries). Cooper offers consistency in both pass-pro and run blocking with an 81.2 grade in zone run block schemes, a scheme often employed by the Eagles. Zak Zinter – G – Michigan

6’6 309lbs

National champions Michigan Wolverines have made history this draft cycle, sending a whopping EIGHTEEN prospects to the NFL scouting combine. A 3- year starter at right guard for the Wolverines, Zak was awarded unanimous first-team all-american this past season allowing only 5 pressures the entire year. Zak’s limitations come from his lack of explosiveness and agility, where at the next level may be exposed by speed rushers in space as well as struggle to climb to the second level inrun blocking concepts. Zak’s strength is by far his greatest asset with excellent anchoring ability against the bull-rush.

Tyler Guyton – OT – Oklahoma (covered in a previous article)

6’7 328lbs

Sooners alum, the bro-barn certified right tackle is flying up draft boards around the country with a positive impact during senior week. Guyton is a former defensive end who transitioned to offensive tackle carrying over his elite explosion off the snap and footwork. Guyton has work to do regarding hand placement, however with one if not the best position coaches in the game the ceiling for Tyler is All-Pro. In the last 3 years Tyler has only given up 2 sacks and none in his junior year in 2023. He grades out with blue-chip efficiency in pass blocking (98.2)

Projected: 1st Round

Brandon Coleman – OT – TCU

6’6 320lbs

Horny Frogs lineman Brandon Coleman is a 3-year starter and split his time in 2023 between LT and LG positions. Brandon doesn’t possess the sexy PFF stats that the others on this list do – which is why he projects as a late-round low-floor, high-upside prospect. Whilst he has a lot to learn in terms of hand placement and weight leverage technique, what Brandon brings is elite athleticism posting a 4.99 40-yard dash (93%-ile), 34in vertical (98%), 9’6 broad (96%), runs 18mph and squats 600lbs. If Howie Roseman has a few darts to throw at the back end of the draft Brandon Coleman’s name could very well be called to Philadelphia.

Travis Glover – OT – Georgia State

6’6 323lbs

A five-year starter on the offensive line (2019-23), Travis has 57 career starts (which is second most in GSU history) at RT, LT and LG. A marked-improvement in his senior 2023 season (and named first team All-Sun Belt Conference) has allowed Travis a chance at the pro league coming out of a “small school” in comparison to the power-five conferences. If the Eagles are using one of their 30 spots to speak to this young man, they see something. According to PFF, Travis allowed 12 pressures in 2023 (4 sacks, 3 hits and 5 hurries) with an overall pass block grade of 80.8, not bad. Travis could develop into a high-end swing tackle at the next level.
